Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Copenhagen

When it is time to celebrate the last day of the year, the options are endless. Spend the night in the heart of Copenhagen, and join us for a Champagne brunch at our sister hotel, Hotel Kong Arthur. From here, it is just a short walk to Nørreport, so getting around the city is easy, whether your evening includes dinner and celebrations out on the town, or a walk down to the lakes to watch the fireworks.

You can put together your own New Year’s stay to match your sparkling evening. Check-in (from 3.00 pm)

Settle into your room in the Nansensgade neighborhood, and get ready for the last night of the year.

Join us for Cozy Hour (5.00-6.00 pm)

Head down to the lobby, and enjoy a glass of wine or a draft beer on the house before the evening really gets going.

The King’s New Year’s speech (6.00 pm)

Take part in a beloved Danish New Year’s Eve tradition. We will put King Frederik’s traditional New Year’s speech on the TV in the lobby. Please note, that the speech will be in Danish.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in the city

Enjoy a New Year’s Eve dinner at one of the restaurants nearby. We recommend the Italian restaurant La Rocca or the Spanish restaurant Pintxos, both of which stays open on New Year’s Eve and offers special menus, but be sure to book ahead, as New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest nights of the year at restaurants across the city.

As midnight approaches, head down to Queen Louise’s Bridge, and watch the city welcome the new year with fireworks over the lakes, just a short walk from the hotel.

Please be aware that everyone is allowed to use fireworks, so they will be shooting off in the streets. We recommend using safety glasses to stay safe.

Champagne brunch and a slow morning

On January 1st, breakfast is served between 7.00-11.00 am.

On January 1st, we keep the breakfast restaurant open a little longer and serve a glass of Champagne to all guests. Add breakfast to your stay during booking, so you can sleep in and start the year with brunch and a glass of bubbles.

Late check-out (by 12.00 pm)

On January 1st, you can stay under the covers a little longer as check-out is not until 12.00 pm. Hand back your key, and head into the new year with plenty of new memories.
